ABOUT US

Resilience Productions is a potential independent film production company that produces full-length features, short films, and skits on a non-existent to shoe-string budget. Currently, Shannon Shaw is the writer-director in charge. Cast and crew change from project to project due to availability.

Pre-2017, Resilience Productions was known as "Lone Star Pictures" - an amateur you tube channel (technically "Shaggy72" is the main channel). Since 2007, every opportunity at making a video - whether it was uploaded or not made public - was done for the purpose of learning the craft of film-making while having fun. Along the way, this hobby became a passion for Shannon Shaw. Through real-world trial-&-error and experimenting until 2023, we believe we now have gained enough practical knowledge and experience to make actual feature films & short stories as close to professional quality as one can get without having a large budget or resources. (All the while and forever continuing to be open to opportunities to learn and grow as a film-maker.) The amateur You Tube days are over. It is time to move up to the next level.

The goal is to make films that showcase the abilities and potential of Resilience Productions. Hopefully, the end result will be worthy of being a serious contender for film festival entry. The dream would be to be accepted into film festivals - the ultimate fantasy would be to win. Granted, we are not delusional - we are realists - but we can do the best we can with what we have.

These films can be used as a proof-of-concept for potential investors (private or crowd-funding) or collaborators to prove we know what we are doing and can be trusted to make larger productions with bigger budgets if given the financing. The more content we create, the bigger following we can gain (& thus the crowd funding can gain traction as well.)

For now, it is simply a passion (more than a hobby, but less than a career) with dreams of grandeur (or at least to finance films without bankrupting Shannon). In the end, it isn't about winning festivals or getting rich (although this is expensive & time-consuming, and would be nice to compensate people for their time and effort), but this is about fulfilling a film-making dream by collaborating with people in making high-quality movies of all types. Of course, in the lottery-winning-like scenario that Resilience Productions could make movies with bigger budgets that allow professional actors and/or paid cast & crew (SAG, union, or not), we would be more than willing to expand into a legitimate production company/studio - dealing with taxes, benefits, insurance, permits, being signatory, ect. That may only be a dream, but as (the REAL) Optimus Prime once said, "The future is built on dreams."
